FAYE HAVOC
Seamstress of Striptease

WINNER: “MOST COMEDIC”
AT THE 2019 BURLESQUE HALL OF FAME
TOURNAMENT OF TEASE

Faye Havoc has been raising a ruckus onstage since 2013. This unnatural blonde accidentally began their burlesque career as a costumer to Vancouver BC's stripteasers in 2011, and it wasn't long before she began staging her own audacious neo-burlesque visions. Faye delights in baring their wits and wiles, often creating acts that comment on the art and structure of the strip, satirizing burlesque itself and challenging the audience's preconceptions of what it is - or isn't. This art deco dreamgirl gone awry has appeared at festivals and revues throughout Canada and the United States, and is recognized for obsessively detailed stagewear and clever, funny, emotional, innovative acts.

Faye lives, works, and performs in Vancouver BC Canada, a region encompassing the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, & Tsleil-Waututh nations. In addition to accomplishments as a costume designer and sole proprietor of their small business Fait Avec, they have presented classes at BurlyCon on the integration of historical undergarment styles and corsetry into burlesque, and written articles for Foundations Revealed and Zelda Magazine. Faye was a member of the award-winning Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society until its dissolution, and a Scholarship alumnus of the Vancouver Burlesque Co. They also served their performance community from 2016-2020 as an elected Member and Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival. In 2017, Faye was selected to compete for Best Debut at the Burlesque Hall of Fame's Tournament of Tease, and again in 2019 for Best Small Group with duo partner Donna Boss Rogers, taking home the “Most Comedic” superlative award together as the only pantomime horse ever to win a title at this prestigious Las Vegas competition. More recently, Faye has stepped into the role of troupe manager for The Circus Sideshow Reptiles - the snake handling division of Caravan of Curiosities.

In their nonexistent free time, Faye enjoys drinking bitter black tea, hanging out with their menagerie of felines and serpents, conceptualizing and executing ambitious photoshoots, composing, editing, and remixing music, immersing themselves in literary horror fiction as a form of escapism, and sometimes even sewing for pleasure rather than for profit.
